I quite like Transparency Boo. They do video essays (mostly) about video games. If there is one thing I would say connects all their work itās curiousity.
Some of my favourite videos from them are their essays on Spyro 1 Japan, Aquanauts Holiday and OutRun. They also recently dropped their long anticipated 6 hour Klonoa 1 video.
Okay PHEW. Yeah a full library metadata update would cause lots of issues, but tagging as you tip is the play. ^^; had me worried for a sec
But at the same time, I guess SOMEONEās gotta do it - I need to be more mindful about doing it for discs that donāt pull metadata automatically and submitting it back.
I always think when I retire Iāll start cataloging my own database for TV shows and stuff
In fact, the whole original reason I started this site was to catalog demo discs this way and apparently I only ever posted one. Iāve also lost my original rips so I think Iām starting over this fall.
This is precisely what paralyzes me. Especially for stuff I canāt reasonably sell, so I either dump at goodwill or something or risk it getting trashed, which feels like worst case scenario.
I DID just dump a massive pile of stuff at Half Price Books - only got like $125 for it all ($114 after the kid got a Minecraft cup lol) but itās money I didnāt have before and stuff out of my house, so thatās a win!
So I recently heard of a method someone uses for curation that Iām gonna try next time I am pruning my collection.
They basically ask themselves if they would buy the game again if they didnāt have it. In a position that is removed from any good deals or FOMO, as they already have the game.
