Steam Spring Sale

The Internet says Steam’s Spring sale starts tomorrow. I’ve given myself a budget I’m hoping to stick to. We’ll see how well I stick to it. I’m hoping to pick up Haste, Esoteric Ebb, Echo Point Nova, and Cairn.

Are there any specific games you’re hoping to pick up?

Tough, but good, question. I’m not really feeling like buying a game these days since I have a lot of unplayed games and old favorites I want to try/revisit, but when the sale starts I’ll def have a look through Steam.

Something I have been feeling lately though, especially with the new Dragon Quest Reimagined, is that I’ve been wanting to try a JRPG for the first time. So if there are JRPG’s on sale, maybe I’ll pick one up. I’m also a sucker for management/automation games so if I see one on sale, maybe I’ll pick it up as well.

Haste looks pretty neat, as well as Echo Point Nova! I’ll possibly check those out if they go on sale as well!

I got a boomer shooter bundle before the sale. I hope Echo point Nova is good, as I’m currently winding down my addiction to their previous game, Severed Steel. (I think I played most of it’s steam workshop by now)

I’ve never played a Dragon Quest, but I remember hearing great things about 11 when it came out.

Haven’t played many Boomer shooters. Just Doom and Dusk really. I’m in the mood for something a little bit high energy. Do you have a suggestion as to one to try?

Wow. Thank you, that is quite a list. I’ve seen Turbo Overkill pop up a couple times. I’m trying to decide between that and Ion Fury.

Ooo I just saw that TMNT Splintered Fate is only 2.99 right now. I played through it back in November after hearing @EposVox recommend it a few times and it was a blast! It felt like a TMNT version of Hades

Taking a different approach to the Steam Spring Sale. I’ve given myself a budget of Ā£40, and as the sales goes on I will add stuff to my basket.
Then at the end of the sale I will review my basket, removing anything I no longer want and get the price down to £40

This is smart! I haven’t bought anything yet, but I might do this strategy just to avoid overspending on games I might not play.

This has been my approach for the past few steam sales. Give myself a Ā£10-Ā£20 budget, go through what I think I might like then add them to my basket. After a few days I’ll go through a process of elimination, asking myself why did I add this? Do I really intend to play it? How long have I wanted this game? If I’m still satisfied I’ll keep the games in there, if not they get removed.

I’ve stopped buying games almost altogether. I’ll add some to the wishlist, but nothing is purchased unless I plan to start playing it within the next month. It does mean I miss out on a lot of titles, but I’m also not spending money I’m not getting on something I’ll never play. There’s always another Steam Sale next season.

Shhhhh… Don’t look at these old console games I keep buying… I’m getting to them, I promise. LoL
