Thanks to @Will I am working on a Steam Machine review. I’ve been testing games for about a week now and now I’m working on broader ideas I want to discuss or think about.
I’ve been thinking about the lack of “ecosystem” features between the Deck and Machine. I have some ideas, but what are some things you’d like to see them be able to do together?
Pretty simple idea, what about using the same SD card in the Steam Machine and Deck?
Maybe more generic PC stuff, but things like syncing contacts, calendars, photos and videos, books and music and all kinds of stuff like that. These would probably work with some third-party, Linux based apps but these are the first things that come to mind for me when thinking about digital ecosystems and how machines in that ecosystem could (or should) work together.
Valve was working on Citadel, a JackBox/Tower defence sort of game, with one player in VR and more on pancake PC or tablets, so I would like more Valve games to play, please ![]()
Interface/widgets workshop with usermade themes, KDE Connect support is a big one, that Airport thing Apple used to have, where a box in the home was running backups on multiple devices.
Nucleus Co-op or an alternative, just inject local split-screen in pc games (yes nucleus already exists but it likes to crash on my pc). Stream player2 to the deck and this could create the world’s most powerful Wii U
