I created a written review of the Skip1s remote from Flirc. It’s a fully programmable IR remote in the same vein as Logitech’s Harmony series. Overall, I’m satisfied with my purchase. I like that every button is fully configurable and an Online account isn’t required to access the code database (looking at you, Logitech & Sofabaton). The desktop app has the most issues and I hope the creator can improve that over time.
Nice one, that’s a well written and comprehensive review. I do like that your needs align with mine in regard to self-reliance rather than depending on an external server. I’ll keep an eye on your blog and see what else you write - do you happen to have an RSS feed? I wasn’t able to find one, though I think I could generate one for myself if needed.
