I think there is a way in which you can play it as a casual (Runescape) by just doing some quests/exploring/… (a few hours per week) but you will never reach a very high level and eventually you will run into skill constraints for quests so that you need to grind these skills first, but that will only be after 30-40 hours I guess.

Yeah indeed, I think that’s the “problem“ with Runescape. Some friends of mine play it a lot and they say this about it as well: you can play it casually but it’s almost not meant to play casually lol it’s like really addicting in their opinion.
